Frequently Asked Questions
What is the CITN?
The Construction Industry Training Network is a collaboration between contractors, associations, unions and training providers who are responsible for training the majority of the workforce in British Columbia; you can find out more about our association partners here. We address the need to train, recruit and retain skilled workers in order to build B.C. by offering training, providing assistance with navigating government programs, and matching qualified employees with local employers.
How can I become a member of the CITN?
Contact us! We are always available to talk to people who want to get involved, whether you’re an employer or an employee. If you are already a member of one of our association partners, you are automatically a member of CITN!
Where can I take a course through the CITN?
We offer courses on the job site, at one of our training providers, in the classroom across B.C. and Yukon, or online. Check out our course calendar here or fill out a job site training request form.
How do I know your courses are quality assured?
Our training providers are required to adhere to strict guidelines that ensure all of our courses fulfill the latest industry standards. We’d be pleased to talk to you more about our quality assurance program; contact us to find out more.
What is My CITN?
My CITN is a personalized database that allows employees to track their training, credentials and experience in a single place, which makes it easier to move between employers and projects, and notifies workers when their certifications are set to expire. It also allows employees to post their resume when they’re looking for work so we can connect them with employers looking for skilled workers. This assists them in remaining continuously employed throughout their career. For employers, My CITN allows them to track employee development to ensure their workers are always up to date with their training.
Do you offer any webinars?
Yes we do! We regularly offer webinars throughout the year. Check out our course calendar for the list of upcoming sessions. We also offer online courses, which can be found here. You can also contact us if you are looking for a specific course that we don’t currently have listed; we may add it to our calendar!
How can you help me build my crew?
